The fee for permanent residence in Denmark in 2026

The fee is DKK 7,570 if your current permit is based on work, and DKK 4,970 if it is based on family reunification. The fee is not refunded if refused.

The processing time can be up to 12 months, and the requirements are assessed on the day of the decision.

If you are refused

The fee is not refunded.

If the application is rejected without being processed

The fee is refunded minus DKK 1,040.

This happens for example when documents are missing, so the authorities never assess the case itself.
